She needs to be held legally accountable for making false accusations. If I were the mother of one of the TRUE VICTIMS in this case, I would do everything in my power to ensure that she gets punished to the fullest extent of the law for trying to ruin my son's reputation and take away his freedom. Although perjury carries a potential penalty of imprisonment, it seldom gets prosecuted. This needs to change so that we can prevent the Lucy Craigs of this world from seeking retaliation. Like others, I was once young and dumb and made terrible decisions in my 20's while being heavily under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Even though some of those poor decisions were rooted in my desire to win a man's heart (i.e., agreeing to threesomes), ultimately, the decision was still mine. Do I regret being a hoe? Of course I do. Did I refuse to take accountability by blaming others else for my poor decisions? Of course not. On a side note, this dilutes the credibility of true victims of rape, such as my friend who was date-raped in South Africa and had a rape kit exam performed on her the very next day (not several weeks later). While I don't agree with her decision, she refused to press charges for the sake of his children after finding out the perpetrator was a father.
