The girl was no Southern belle, she had a privileged private school education that was not firmly anchored in morality. I can only assume she sold the rape story to her parents who refused to believe anything else about their daughter. The fact that she is completely comfortable to put people in prison ( that she so recently shared intimacy with) to salvage a reputation she carelessly threw away shows what a moral reprobate that she is.
