In different times, a different culture you could hold the men more responsible. We are in the age of feminism and equality though; women are not the fragile gentler sex to be looked after, they are equally capable, want equal opportunity, but sure don't want equal responsibility. Men don't owe it to woman to look after them - nobody looks after men.
